Fungal Nail Infections

Fungal nail infections usually occur when the fungi from athlete's foot starts infecting your toenails, leading them to thicken, turn yellow and become quite brittle.

This type of fungi like warm, dark and moist places, so preventative treatments involve keeping your feet clean and dry. This can be done through foot deodorants - both creams and sprays, by using a foot power between your toes or even by wearing individual toe socks that are designed to control moisture around your feet.

The Gehwol Protective Nail and Skin Cream is a great at-home treatment, with clotrimazole to target fungal infections, plus wheat germ oil, panthenol, and Bisabolol to care for your skin and nails.

Natural at home treatments include Body Essential's Nourish Your Nails spray, which is packed full of essential lemon and lavender oils, well known for their antiseptic properties.

Toenails can take up to a year to fully grow out, so patience is needed! Always consult your doctor or podiatrist if you're concerned about your feet.
